A warm welcome is sure to delight all when visiting The Chequers, a friendly pub situated in the south Leicestershire village of Swinford. Where Chris & Brian Priest have, for the past twenty five years been providing excellent service, in a beautiful building with fine drink, food and regular entertainment. The Chequers has a selection of lagers on tap, as well as three real ales, including Mild Ale & a constantly changing guest ale. The rest of the bar is well stocked and includes a variety wines, spirits and soft drinks. The pub serves food from Tuesday to Sunday, with a menu containing traditional British Pub Food such as pies, steaks & fish dishes, as well as others, such as pizza; and a selection of curries. There is also a lighter bite menu, suitable for children and the elderly. During the summer, the public house assembles a beautifully decorated and furnished marquee that is suitable to hire for functions, such as wedding receptions, christenings, birthday parties & other events for up to one hundred guests. The marquee is also used by The Chequers for music nights and their annual summer beer festival. The lounge area can also be reserved for meetings & parties for up to twenty people, buffets can be provided if required. Being a traditional village public house, The Chequers caters for all ages and possesses a large garden with a variety of children's play equipment and toddler facilities. In addition, traditional pub games including darts, table skittles, dominoes, and card games of crib and solo, all played within the warmth of the wood burning stove.
